It seems to be that way most time we go to Atlantic City. A few years ago, we were down there with my father-in-law and he gave me $20. I played a standard machine (with the 3 rows) and didn't I get up to like $240 in a few pulls. I cashed out right away. A few years ago we gave mom a few quarters and she won about $65. She was very happy. Your butterfly shots are beautiful!
Zoey - I'm sure you won't be offended if I correct your quote. You probably already know that it is "The love of money is the root of all evil." That surely is the truth when you look at the crime in today's society. I hope you had fun even if you didn't win a fortune.
Beverley - Valerian does have a scent - if you put it in a vase it smells like dog droppings, which is such a shame because it's a great cut flower.
dog droppings? LOL, Alice. I have never brought it inside, but the scent outside is just very sweet and not at all repulsive (to me at least).
The "root of all evil" was just to make me feel better about losing all my money...I'm not offended at all...but now I just feel worse about not winning.........heehee...not really....just kidding.
Thank for the nice comments about the butterflies. I love to walk around taking pics of everything that likes to visit my garden.
I appreciate you taking the time and effort to leave a comment. I will try to answer any questions you have. Please note due to Blogger changing word verification so almost nobody can read it, I have had to change to no word verification and only allow registered users to comment.
I am so glad you stopped by to visit my garden. I garden in lower northern Michigan (zone 5) in far less than ideal conditions. I have too many pine trees, too much shade, too many rocks, herds of hosta-munching deer and rabbits who think my lilly buds are gourmet appetizers. I am by no means an expert in horticulture or garden design--just an amateur with a shovel and a passion. My garden changes daily during the summer and I will be updating frequently.
During the winter months, I blog about my favorite cold-weather hobby--quilting and just my everyday musings.
I hope you enjoy your visit, and that you will come back soon.

Very nice pictures. The valerian would look great in my moon garden. Does it have a scent?
