But I came home today and the good poppies were in full bloom. These are the ones I think are the 'oriental' poppies.
At this point, though, I just don't know what I have!
Below is a picture of the center of both the good and the bad.
Does this help anyone to identify them?

Making Miscellaneous Christmas Quilt Blocks

At the moment, I have no idea what will become of these quilt blocks I have
been making for the past couple of weeks. I guess they will remain in this
bin...

Sorry can't help with the poppy. I don't have a lot of success with them. Your garden is looking wonderful - I am really enjoying all the photos you are posting.
ReplyDeleteThey certainly look like Oriental Poppies to me. Does anyone over there grow the annual Iceland Poppies - very colourful flowers like crepe paper, long thin hairy stems, leaves all in a cluster at the base?
ReplyDeleteI've had both the Oriental and Iceland poppies. The Oriental seemed to last longer than the Iceland but both have disappeared into oblivion in the beds they were in here.
ReplyDeleteI have both the good and "bad" poppies too. On my blog someone confirmed that the ones with black in the centre are oriental poppies. I have no idea about the other ones.
