- I am so glad you stopped by to visit my garden. I garden in lower northern Michigan (zone 5) in far less than ideal conditions. I have too many pine trees, too much shade, too many rocks, herds of hosta-munching deer and rabbits who think my lilly buds are gourmet appetizers. I am by no means an expert in horticulture or garden design--just an amateur with a shovel and a passion. My garden changes daily during the summer and I will be updating frequently. During the winter months, I blog about my favorite cold-weather hobby--quilting and just my everyday musings. I hope you enjoy your visit, and that you will come back soon.

Zoey the more I look at your blog the more I think you are garden crazy. Watering alone must take you hours. I think you are the Garden Queen of the blogging world.

ReplyDeleteDo you use any of those water retaining crystals in your soils? I've never used them but was curious as to what others thought of them.
I am seriously considering them for my window boxes at my work garden next year. They are really expensive though.

ReplyDeleteKerry, I used the crystals two years ago, but did not find them to be any great help. I still had to water daily. They might be better in the larger containers, but in the small hanging baskets, there just is not enough soil to retain much water.
ReplyDeleteTaracotta, I had to chuckle when I read this as I JUST finished posting pic of my wilted flowers! Often many of the containers are wilted when I get home from work, but they perk back up within an hour or so of watering.
