I eagerly awaited the bloom on this new dahlia "Peaches and Cream'. I am a little disappointed. I expected more vibrant colors. The colors are actually quite muddy and dull.
Let the Basting Begin!

I am using my dining room table to baste this big one -- it's about 105 x
105 inches (king size).
It's been a while since I've finished one this big.

Still very beautiful Zoey. WOW....you don't realize til someone doesn't post for a few days how you rely on reading blogs with your tea in the morning...ROFLOL.

More my color scheme than yours!
ReplyDeleteVery pretty!
Welcome back to blogland Zoey!
ReplyDeleteI think the dahlia is beautiful too. Peaches and cream makes me think of a pale apricot and you got much more. Don't compare it to your orange calla lilies!
I mean canna lilies-you told me that! ; )
ReplyDeleteYa know, you could increase the saturation on those babies on-screen and we'd never know. Shows how we can improve on nature or just enjoy our plants again and again with our handy little digital cameras. Great shot.
ReplyDeleteThanks, tarracotta and Jen. Even though it is a muddy color, it does go well with the canna color.
ReplyDeleteDianne, I am glad I'm not the only one who keeps confusing canna and calla. I can't tell you how many times I type the wrong one and have to go back and edit.
LOL takoma. That would be pretty sneaky of me, wouldn't it?
I love it mine is buried under the Cosmos that I thought I pulled out earlier this summer. Love the Canna lily too.
ReplyDeleteIt looks gorgeous to me! I missed your frequent updates, too. I thought you were the one blog I could rely on to feed my addiction ;-)
ReplyDeleteI like the way that this seems to glow.
