This reminds me of the huge "pond toad" that I saw on my road in N.B. It was that big and I thought for sure that someone had lost a garden ornament on the road. Then my neighbor walked up to it and tapped it on the butt and it sluggishly went across the road and back to the bog. UG!!!!!!!!!
LOL, ladies. No pond fo rme -- too much work caring for it with all of the pine trees I have. I would be picking pine needles out all the time. I have all the garden work I can handle right now!
My photo is 'morphed'. I got the idea from Dr. Cutie Troublemaker's blog (I've gotten a lot of ideas from her). She even had to tell me how to save it (print screen into paint). Check out how cool her morphed photos are (see my side bar)! Most of mine were horrible. Could you not have a water feature on your pretty deck? ; )
Never heard of "morphed" photos before. Thanks for the info. Yes, I have been thinking of a fountain for the deck. I have a couple of electrical outlets on it. Just have not found anything I really want yet.
I think he's beautiful. I had a toad that lived in my shady area in back. I was going to buy him a toad house from Lee Valley. I guess he moved on or died because I haven't seen him this year or last.
we live adjacent to some woods, and every spring you can walk in there and the ground is covered in bbaby toads hopping around for about a week..countless numbers :)
Several have lived in my garden since i've lived here. They burrow under the house and sleep through the winter.
I appreciate you taking the time and effort to leave a comment. I will try to answer any questions you have. Please note due to Blogger changing word verification so almost nobody can read it, I have had to change to no word verification and only allow registered users to comment.
I am so glad you stopped by to visit my garden. I garden in lower northern Michigan (zone 5) in far less than ideal conditions. I have too many pine trees, too much shade, too many rocks, herds of hosta-munching deer and rabbits who think my lilly buds are gourmet appetizers. I am by no means an expert in horticulture or garden design--just an amateur with a shovel and a passion. My garden changes daily during the summer and I will be updating frequently.
During the winter months, I blog about my favorite cold-weather hobby--quilting and just my everyday musings.
I hope you enjoy your visit, and that you will come back soon.
