I used it today to remove some grass from this snow-in-the-summer, which is another difficult mat-type plant. It worked quite well and was not as invasive as my other method.

Yes, Zoey, that looks pretty much like what I was talking about, although I've only seen them with four prongs. But who cares, so long as they are strong enough to do the job. I find that the fork loosens the soil without the need to lift, turn and break it up and is much less disruptive to the plants. Actually, now that I come to think of it, I believe I have seen those forks before and they were for digging potatoes, hence the slightly curved prongs.
