Those crocus look lovely, both as leaves and in flower. Funny that the leaves come in the Spring and the flowers come later in the Autumn. Do you suppose that it's stuck in reverse gear?...lol
ReplyDeleteYes, Zoey, the leaves die off, there's nothing for a while, and then the blossoms. The genus is Colchicum, which is necessary to know only if you are going to buy some, because there are also Crocus called Autumn Crocus.
ReplyDeleteLooks great with the forget-me-not there!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Kathy. Adding the genus was a good idea.
ReplyDeleteI'm learning so much about flowers from reading the various blogs I've found...thanks so much for another lesson:-) Your flowers all look so beautiful!!
ReplyDeletealice, it does seem like a strange plant, but you're right, the flower is nice. I expect I will not enjoy the dying foliage, though.
ReplyDeleteJenn, I love forget-me-nots until they go to seed....there is nothing worse looking than a bunch of them after they die off.
Pea,
I think we all love this blog stuff so much because we all learn new things.
I am glad you learned something from my little spot in cyberspace.
thank you for picture!.... was trying to remember how much room the leaves take up in spring before I planted some more. Will have to find a different spot.
