While cooking tonight, I asked DH to go to the pantry to get me something for me.
He came back carrying this soup can while shaking his head.
This can expired in 1998!
I guess we don't like cream of potato soup!
I just finished baking a pumpkin swirl cheesecake.
It looks like it turned out pretty good. There are only a couple of small cracks on the top.
I tried putting a bowl of water in the oven under the cheesecake as it cooked.
I think that did help it from not cracking more.
Now I don't know what to do to garnish it. I hate to take a naked cheesecake to dinner tomorrow!
Making Miscellaneous Christmas Quilt Blocks
-
At the moment, I have no idea what will become of these quilt blocks I have
been making for the past couple of weeks. I guess they will remain in this
bin...

Me thinks you need to take inventory in your pantry...lol
ReplyDeleteThat cheesecake looks fine just the way it is...go ahead take a naked cheesecake to the party..I dare you to!!
Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours, Zoey!
I probably still have outdated cans of stuff in my basement. I know the freezer down there has stuff from when Sean was in 6th grade and he's a college junior now. I can't get to the bottom of it (an upright).
ReplyDeleteIt's okay to have a few cracks in a cheesecake. I think you can put the pan right in a water bath (just wrap the springform pan in foil first). I worked at a gourmet place and that's how my boss did it. Whipped cream would be the perfect garnish! Happy Thanksgiving!
Your cheesecake looks wonderful! Have a great Thanksgiving!
ReplyDeleteCheesecake, whether gussied up or plain is to die for.
ReplyDeleteYears ago, H made a Pumpkin Kahlua Cheesecake with gingersnap crust that I can still taste to this day when I close my eyes. It was divine!
A very Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family.
I had to check the back of cabinet and we are ok.
