Beautiful Sights When Walking

This beautiful scene is across the street from where I work. This bridge connects to an island where people live (only a few people, maybe 9 families). Back in my "fitness nut" days (when I walked 4 miles every day) I walked by this bridge almost daily.
About a year ago, I stopped walking and stopped going to the gym to use the weight machines (just got burned out, I guess). Now I miss seeing this beautiful sight.

  1. Is the bridge a covered one like in 'Bridges of Madison County'? (Loved the book but have never seen the movie.) It looks like a lovely area for a daily walk. Do you think you will take it up again?

  2. Yes, it is a covered bridge. I always think of 'Bridges of Madison' when I walk near it! I loved that book and the movie.

  3. Here we are, sitting at our computers again on opposite sides of the world. It's 1.30am (Thursday) and I can't sleep - actually slept too long in the armchair before going to bed! So I got up to make a hot drink, but in reality it was to surf the blogs. But now the house is starting to make noises as the night gets colder so I might have to sneak back to bed.

  4. Zoey, that is gorgeous. I have a pattern that I can paint someday with a covered bridge in it....So neat.

  5. I loved that book and movie. My husband hated it. He thought she was terrible for fooling around with Clint.(That is putting it mildly). He just didn't get it.

We have a few covered bridges in Lancaster County too. Very neat.
