This is one of the veggie dishes I made for Thanksgiving. They are impressive to serve, but quite simple to make.
You just open a sheet of unthawed puff pastry
spread it with any cream cheese flavor you like
Cut into strips (a pizza cutter works great for this)
Roll one stips around a trimmed asparagus stalk and place on a baking sheet.
Whip up an egg white with a fork and brush over the top of all the stalks. Sprinkle Parmesan cheese over the top.
Bake at 400°F until pastry is lightly browned (15 -20 minutes)
Enjoy all the ohhs and ahhhs from your guests. Only you know how easy they were to make!

Looks good, Zoey! I'd be tempted to pick them up with my fingers and eat them like a french fry. Did you?
ReplyDeleteLostRoses,
ReplyDeleteThat is precisely how they are eaten! No utensils required.
Now don't laugh at this....but I've never eaten asparagus in my life!!! lol I know that mom cooked some when I was growing up but corn was about the only veggies I would eat when I was still at home. Now I eat pretty much any kind of veggie and yet have never bought asparagus!!! I will have to remedy that and try out your recipe, it does look delicious! xoxo
ReplyDeleteThat would probably make me eat asparagus. They look like they would really be good made up this way.

I am going to make these Saturday night when the kids come over. This will be a great, fun thing to serve. Thanks for the recipe. xo Diana

Anything with asparagus is right up my alley!
ReplyDeleteCarole, for some reason women love asparagus. If you buy it, get the skinny ones.
