I just finished reading my book and am feeling rather smug since I'd guessed the big surprise ending. I did not, however, know who the killer was until it was revealed. All in all, it was a good read.
I've been quietly working on the rose quilt blocks for the past 3 weeks or so and have finally finished enough for another border. I get a little bored making the exact same thing over and over so I have changed the flowers a bit. You can't tell from this picture, but most of these aren't even roses anymore.
They are not sewn together yet. I need to lay them all out on the bed first so I can see if the border will fall in the right place on the bed. It's a little tricky when the center is a rectangle rather than square.
I'll worry about all that later this weekend. Right now I need a big swig of A & W root beer!
Have a great evening.
Making Miscellaneous Christmas Quilt Blocks
-
At the moment, I have no idea what will become of these quilt blocks I have
been making for the past couple of weeks. I guess they will remain in this
bin...

Put a scoop or two of really good vanilla ice cream in there and call it a float. Sounds yummy to me!!

Beautiful quilt you've got there!
ReplyDeleteAnother book down, how many left in your stack?
A rootbeer float...yummy!!
The quilt is looking good - I love those little roses (and other flowers!).
ReplyDeleteI've never planted potatoes - I think I have bad memories of having to dig them up when I was a kid. Plus, I don't have enough garden space to do veggies!!
Our local drive-in just closed last weekend for the season - so I'll have to wait until March or April for root beer floats and really, really good onion rings. (This can only be good news for the waistline!!)
I am always amazed at how much you get done in a day - work, quilt, garden, read. How many hours a night do you sleep?
ReplyDeleteQuilt is beautiful.
Oooh, the quilt is looking lovely. I like the contrast of the blue.
ReplyDeleteI like the colors in the quilt. Very pretty! You should be proud of your handful of potatoes. It's a handful more than a lot of us grew! I bet they were real tasty,
ReplyDeleteSusie, that's what we used to call a "black cow". Yum!
ReplyDeleteBetty, I am down to one book left and I expect it to be the best of one of them all.
Kris, Why wait? Just buy root beer and make your own! :) I almost never eat onion rings, but that sandwich I had came with them, so I ate a few. They weren't bad.
Giddy, 7 hours and not a second less! LOL. A few years ago 5 hours was enough, but now I like to sleep more.
WC, Thank you!
Jean, Thank you, too. Yes, I am proud of my tasty little harvest. :)
I usually guess the ends of books myself. ; )
ReplyDeleteThe quilt is looking gorgeous. I will try my hand at the mini one as soon as I finish a gift I am stitching.
Have a great weekend too!
The colors are perfect!
ReplyDeleteYou have a great eye for piecing. Now we can look forward to the finished project.
I love that quilt, Zoey. And how did you do that cool signature at the end of your post??
