I saved this recipe over year ago. When I came across the recipe yesterday, I just happened to have the crescent rolls on hand, and some apples to use up, so I decided to give it a try.
Recipe from the Pillsbury site:
Easy Crescent Apple Cobbler
4 C (I used 6 apples) peeled, sliced cooking apples
1/2 C sugar
3 T flour
1 t cinnamon
8 oz can Pillsbury Refrigerated Quick Crescent Dinner Rolls
Topping:
1/2 C brown Sugar
1 t cinnamon
2 T butter or margarine, melted
Preheat oven to 375.
In large bowl, combine first 4 ingredients.
Separate the crescent dough into 4 rectangles.
Press 2 rectangles over bottom of ungreased 8 or 9-inch square pan.
Spread apple mixture over dough.
Place remaining 2 rectangles over apples; stretch gently to cover. (I did not bother to pull the dough to the edge as it tears easily)
Combine brown sugar and cinnamon; sprinkle over dough.
Drizzle with butter.
Bake at 375 for 30-40 minutes until deep golden brown and center is no longer doughy (I baked mine for 35 minutes).
Cool slightly. Serve with heavy cream or ice cream. (I did not bother with either).
It was great just like this!
I really got a lot done on Sunday. I finished my latest bag:
There are more details here.
I also baked some shortbread cookies, which I thought were really good. I will post that recipe later this week. These recipe posts take a lot of time! I don't think anybody ever makes them, but I like to have them so I can go back and find the recipe when I want to make it again. It's much quicker than trying to find which binder I put the page in!
Oh, but I have made a couple of your recipes and will most likely make this one. Love the bag!
ReplyDeletesounds yummy....cute bag...
ReplyDeleteSally, that is so nice to hear! It makes me feel better about the time involved if somebody is really taking an interest. Thanks for letting me know!
ReplyDeleteHi Deb, Thanks. I have not used the bag yet. I hope it works out for something - library bag or otherwise.
Sounds like an easy recipe..I'll try that soon!
ReplyDeleteZoey..you just put something together and it looks amazing..in your cooking or baking! And don't ever think that nobody bothers to try your recipes..I have tried some of your recipes.(I should let you know when I do) I also get ideas from you to simplify either a recipe or something you sew..okay it's a stretch when I say sew..that is where I flounder no matter how simple!! lol
ReplyDeleteI'm drooling over those apple crescents..
Oh and that red and black bag? I'd carry that one proudly wherever I'd go..it's gorgeous!!
Today I am baking oatmeal date cookies.
Yup, I've also made some of the recipes you post:-) That crescent apple cobbler looks terrific and so easy to make, copying this recipe as well. I think I have a bag of apples downstairs waiting to be used, I'll have to go check. Will need to go buy some crescent rolls though. This time I'll make sure to post it on my blog once I make it:-)
ReplyDeleteOh my, look at that purse you made, Zoey, it's gorgeous!! xoxo
Yummy!
ReplyDeleteThank you for posting this.
I just finished making it, and it is wonderful!
