This is the second day in a row that it has been over 80 degrees outside. That's too hot for me to do anything but enjoy a leisurely brunch in the tulip garden.
I spent the rest of the morning in front of the TV sewing binding on a small quilt. It was nice to be watching shows that I am rarely able to, like Regis and Kelli.
It took about two hours to sew the binding on. It feels good to have this UFO (unfinished object) done.
Now I am going back outside to water a few areas. It does not look like we will be getting any rain for a few days.
update: Oh, Dear. The Hot Pants tulips are blooming.
This is what they are supposed to look like:
I wonder if that little purple stripe gradually widens and the yellow disappears as they age? I don't think the Hot Pants are multi-flowered.
Hmmmmmmm..... do you think it's possible that these yellow multi-flowering tulips will turn into the tulips in this picture?
Oh no! I saw the (Unemployed) part. I didn't see a mention in your post. I hope you're just talking about your vacation this week. Love the tulips. Never have been able to grow them myself. Keep the beautiful pictures coming.
ReplyDeleteSorry. Yes, it's just my 4 days of vacation. I should have mentioned that for those who missed when I mentioned it earlier.
ReplyDeleteOh Zoey..what a beautiful place to have brunch! Love all the tulips even if some aren't turning out to be the right colors..
ReplyDeleteSo now another question..you stain the deck every year and I really like the look of your deck..what do you use? Maybe you have mentioned this sometime but I either forgot or missed it.
I have purchased tulips and ended up with a different variety before. Perhaps that is what happened? I like these a lot. If you don't like them, you can send them my way;)
ReplyDeleteBetty, I think the stain is called something like Sherwin Williams Deckscape. It's oil based.
ReplyDeleteSylvana, I think I probably did get the wrong ones, or I am mixed up on where I planted the Hot Pants. I will have to see if any purple striped ones bloom later.
looks like you are enjoying your vacation...I love Regis and Kelly...flowers look great...
ReplyDeleteHi Zoey,
ReplyDeleteGlad you're having some days off to enjoy your home and garden. Your flowers are beautiful :)
xo
Oh, right, vacation.
ReplyDeleteReally Zoey, you can give us quite a scare!
The tulips don't look like the photo, so maybe the Hot Pants (LOL)surprise you somewhere else!
ReplyDeleteGlad you got the binding finished on your UFO quilt. I just pulled out a UFO cross stitch that I have to add one house to. It was sent around the world so others could stitch on it. I'd like to get it framed soon.
