Junque with Spunk

After my post yesterday I was surprised to open my new issue of Country Gardens magazine today and find this rusty mini wheelbarrow planted with succulents.  Cute! (Dianne, I agree with you that the rusty ones look great in a garden.)

They also have a few other cute pieces of junque planted with the same succulents:

Look at this old bird cage turned into a candle holder with ivy........she used an old chandelier for the candles.

Take note of that lamp base on the right side.  You won't believe what she turned that into....

How about this?

Seriously, Wow--Love it!
I took a pic of the directions for the enquiring minds who want to know how the designer made this transformation from lamp to gorgeous planter.........

Now this is an example of my kind of garden junk!

LOL, Betty, some people are so creative! I mean, really, who would think of using a lamp for a garden container? When I get projects like this, I don't mind paying for magazine subscriptions.

That looks like a nice issue! My pal who is raising chickens (Mainly Stitching on my blogroll) would love the chicken feeder.

I love all of these...I have sedums in various containers around my gardens too.

Now I know what I can do with my vintage floor lamp! I really want a new shade for it, but the cheapest one I can find is about $60 bucks. I'm too tight to pay that for it, I could buy a whole new lamp cheaper.
A planter could be in my future!

May you always have
Walls for the winds,
A roof for the rain,
Tea beside the fire,
Laughter to cheer you,
Those you love near you,
And all your heart might desire!

Happy St. Patrick's Day, dear Zoey:-) Wow is right regarding what that lady did with her old lamp and birdcage!! Just goes to show you never have to throw anything away, you can use it for the garden! lol I've noticed at the auctions that a lot of people go after the old rusty junk and now I wonder if it's for their garden.

I just went to McDonald's to get one of their Shamrock Shakes and omigosh, it's good, it tastes just like what I remember. It's been a few years since I've gotten one! lol I had to do something to celebrate St. Patrick's Day!!! hehe xoxo
