A few weeks ago, I decided to make a book-page wreath. You may have seen them in blogland...they have been all the rage for a few years.
I found an old yellowing book on furniture refinishing that I will never use again, so I tore out the pages and taped them into cones, like this:
I stuck the cones in these two large vases until I had time to make the wreath:
That was about a month ago. So far I have not been inspired to make the wreath, so I just put the vases full of paper "flowers" back up on the entertainment center in my family room.
I decided that I kind of like the vases full of paper "flowers"!
Someday I may still make a wreath, but for now I am content with these winter bouquets.
Let the Basting Begin!

I am using my dining room table to baste this big one -- it's about 105 x
105 inches (king size).
It's been a while since I've finished one this big.

DeleteThanks, Betty.
That is actually a cute idea and one I have not seen anywhere else. Watch, Zoey, you will have started a whole new fad! xo Diana
ReplyDeleteLOL, Diana. One never knows...............
DeleteYou might add some kleenex flowers like we made in grade school for some color! Ha Ha Ha!!
ReplyDeleteThose are way too much work, Patti! :)
DeleteThe vases look very pretty up there Zoey. That's a very pretty room.

Thanks, Cher. One of these days I will (may) make the wreath...then again, they could stay up there for months! At least they fill the vase. I always thought the empty vases looked odd.
ReplyDeleteHi Zoey, Found you via Balisha's blog. I like the paper cones in the vases. Great use for old books.
ReplyDeleteHi Blackberry Lane, Thanks for stopping by and taking the time to comment!
ReplyDeleteHow cute Zoey. I never have good ideas like these. Happy Valentines and have a lovely weekend.
ReplyDeleteGreat idea, Zoey, I have a bunch of empty vases sitting around here, too. They'd look better with something in them. I'm also looking forward to how you make a wreath from the pages, too. Hope you have a great weekend. (Another five inches of snow tonight....but it will end sometime soon.)
