I am liking this pattern, but I don't know if I like it enough to sew another 11 pieces this size ( that would be 396 4.5-inch sections!) plus a border or two. That is what it would take to make a king-size quilt to fit my bed. Once all that was done, I would still have to hand quilt it all.
I tossed this atop the quilt on my bed so you could get a better idea of what I am talking about.
Yes, we quilters do name our quilts.
After all we work longer on making a hand-quilted bed covering than it takes to give birth to a child! So this spring when it's too cold to be in the garden, I will be trying to turn this little section of pieced fabric scraps into a new quilt for my bed.
Very pretty Zoey. I love quilts but hate to sew. You do such a nice job though. You'll come up with something that won't be so many little pieces.
ReplyDeleteCold here too. We had a freeze a couple days ago that did some damage here. Doing a post soon on that. Not happy and we're suppose to get a couple more nights this week like that.

I love seeing your quilts...
ReplyDeleteZoey- That is beautiful. You do a wonderful job. I used to do a little bit of quilting but nothing of this magnitude. My grandmother was a great quilter and we have no idea where the quilts went that she made. It is just sad! I will love to see yours completed when you are done! xo Diana
ReplyDeleteIt's cold here too Zoey. There is a freeze warning out for tonight and tomorrow night. I went out and covered all my plants that are leafing out and getting buds. I hope it helps.
ReplyDeleteI do that same as you I build from the center out!
ReplyDeleteFrost is predicted for tomorrow night here, I might have to pull out some sheets.
Did you plant your rain lily bulbs?
It's turned cool here today too for a few days! Your quilt is beautiful I've always wanted to quilt, but I don't think I could wait a year to finish one. On paitience!! Have a fabulous week!
ReplyDeleteHow curious that we have picked the same pattern, Zoey!!!! I think that it will be my go-to quilt for using up scraps and that I'll let it evolve slowly. Yours is brilliant!
ReplyDeleteWow, that is so intricate a design and pretty! One of these days, I'll try a mini quilt.
