Get Those Little Piggies Ready for Market

I can't believe that I am about to endorse an infomercial product.

Have you seen this cute little egg-shaped foot file?
When you remove the top of the egg, you have a bunch of sharp microfiles that remove dead skin from your feet.
It's nearly identical to those micro planes you use to get fresh lemon peel.

It's also supposed to remove big ugly calluses. I can't say if that's true because I don't have any really major calluses. I suspect it's not that effective on anything major, but if you are looking for something to aid in your daily foot maintenance, I think you will love this gadget. Yes, I said daily...that's why I don't have those major problems like a lot of people have.

It fits nicely in the palm of your hand and takes very little effort. It's much easier to use than one of those long handled foot files. You will feel the results in less than five minutes.

On the backside there is a heavy duty emery board that works great for a quick buffing to smooth the skin even more. Slather on some foot lotion and sink all ten well-maintained digits into a pair of fluffy cotton socks to finish off your mini pedicure.

The infomercial makes a big deal about how all of the shavings (gross!) are held inside the egg so you have no mess. That's not exactly true. There are still particles that escape, but not enough to bother me.
The one negative is that it's nearly impossible to get the cover off to dump the shavings. At least I had difficulty, but I do have those long nails that tend to interfere with such things.
All in all, I think it's worth the $10 retail price.
If you have one, what do you think of it?

  1. Interesting little gadget! Nope don't have one and don't have major problems because as you do..I look after those feet on a regular basis. Would like to try it though..shall keep my eye on that gadget and maybe even wait for a sale!!

  2. This is too funny, Zoey...guess what I was just doing before I came on the computer? Yup, using my Ped Egg! lol I couldn't believe it when I read your post! hehe I've had mine for almost a year now and just love it...like you, though, the only complaint I have is struggling to open the part where the shavings are. I use to really have dry and cracked heels but ever since I've been using the Ped Egg, I no longer have that problem. Now that sounded like a commercial! lol xoxo

  3. I should get one as I'm always in my stocking feet (or bare foot in the summer) and the soles of my feet are dry. You should add this to 'I Recommend' that I do every Sunday. I usually have 'Mister Linky'.

  4. Sounds like an inexpensive way to have great looking feet!
My sister bought me some really soft socks from the shopping channel that have aloe vera in them (they look like ordinary socks)but you wear them to bed to soften your feet..and it's working!

  5. Yup, Betty, regular maintenance cures a lot of the problems before they occur.

Pea, I am glad to hear you like it, too!

Dianne, I thought of that as I was typing. I don't really know how to use those linky things. I tried to do one recently for garland, but the owner deleted it. Even thought I ask her in a comment, She wasn't even kind enough to tell me why! After trying to figure it out, I believe it's because I didn't put a link back to her blog, though it didn't say to do that in her post. So that tells me she didn't give a hoot about seeing everybody's garland, she only wanted to get a link back to her own blog. And everyone knows my feelings on that subject! O.K. I shall step down from my soapbox, though this would make a good rant post.

    Suzy, those socks sound wonderful.

  6. Hi Zoey:

Happy New Year! I got a Ped Egg in my Christmas Stocking after my husband's aunt told me how much she liked hers. My feet have always been a bit rough and the Ped Egg worked wonderfully! So wonderfully, that I got a bit over zealous and "overdid" an area that I thought I had missed and irritated the side/bottom of my heel rather badly. My husband John says I "abused the Ped Egg" ha ha! Now that I have a healthy respect for the Ped Egg and its capabilities, we will get along fine going forward! Many happy pedicures :)

  7. I grew up using a pumice stone and they have served me faithfully for almost 50 years, but they work best after a soak in a tub. Do you use the Ped Egg on dry skin only? I don't mean "dry skin" like cracked dry heels, but skin that hasn't been soaked in warm water like for a pedicure.

  8. Cathy, I got mine from Santa, too. I guess the old guy is on a mission to banish rough feet!

Anonymous, I have only used mine on dry feet. I have actually only used it twice so far. I have a pumice stone that I keep in the shower. That is what I have always used, too.
