I Did a Lot of Work in the Garden Today

I weeded, I moved a plant or two, and I brought in a few new pieces of garden "art".

Mid-July is the prime bloom time in my garden.  I can't believe that in about two weeks the garden begins to go downhill.............it seems like summer just started!

Today I am going to post a bunch of pics with short descriptions.  I hope you get some enjoyment.  Thanks for taking a look!

I always look forward to these  'Manhattan' Asiatic lilies:

I like them with the white Feverfew:
Here a few more looking toward the back to the rockwall garden:
I derive great pleasure from that large piece of driftwood in this garden.
Everything seems to look good with this driftwood!  Here it is with white Feverfew:

Here are some red Asiatic lilies that I have had for years and long forgotten their name:

Here's another view a few feet to the left with Marguerite daisies:

Tomorrow I will post a few more if I have the time.

I hope you are all enjoying July!

  1. Looks great, Zoey.
The summer is going so fast, isn't it?
We'll be back in winter before you know it. Are you having much for "sketters" over that way? They are TERRIBLE this year for us!

    1. HI Sue,
I have heard people complain about the mosquitoes this year, but I have not noticed any difference. Maybe I just have not been outside often enough. :)

  2. Such a beautiful pink flower!!!! I know I can't believe how fast it is going either. I love gardening too.
I have a piece of driftwood from Hurricane river in the U.P. in my garden...25 years now.
    Have a good weekend.

    1. Hello Earlene,
I think my driftwood has been around about the same amount of time. I think it will outlast me!

  3. Lovely color Zoey. That driftwood looks beautiful. They are not cheap. I have told my brother to look for great pieces for his gardens when he's out at rivers or lakes, they really add a lot to the gardens.

    1. My driftwood came from a guy at work who got it from the shores of Lake Huron about three decades ago. Thanks for stopping by, Cher.

  4. So glad to see a post from you. I loved the tour. I used to have feverfew and loved it for little bouquets in the house. I have looked for it (not seeds) online, but haven't located a source yet.
Have a nice day today....see you soon.

  5. Hi Balisha,
Thanks for missing me. :) I have been around reading your blog and others, but have not posted or commented much.

I seem to have a lot of feverfew this year. Once you get it, it seeds all over. Some years I yank most of it out, but this year I am enjoying it. It rained hard last night and a lot of it fell over, so I went out this morning and cut most of it down. It will probably flower again in a few weeks.

I don't know if I have ever seen it for sale as a plant. I hope you can find it! I wish you lived near me. I could give you some plants!

  6. Gorgeous lilies, Zoey! I always think of the 4th of July as the beginning of summer. I had a friend who thought that meant it was half over! I just enjoy it while it lasts.
