Multi-flowered Metamorphosis

First of all I must tell you all that my computer is dying and I thought it was gone for good since it crashed last Thursday. However this morning it decided to wake up and allow me to get online. I don't know how long it will continue working.

I am having quite the dilemma because I need to buy a new computer, but I really want to wait until Vista is but a dim memory in Microsoft's motherboard. From what I read it won't be gone until the end of this year. I am just hoping my computer will chug along for six more months.

If I seem to disappear for no reason, it will probably be because I have no working computer.

Remember those multi-flowered yellow tulips? Well, they have made an amazing change in color.

Here they are on May 26 just beginning to change.

and here they are just a few days ago on June 5 .

Cool! It's like having two different tulips in one bulb.

Over the weekend I made a long fabric table runner to put under the pieced runner I made a few weeks ago. During the summer I like to leave the wood showing on the table. It's a lighter look than using all the fabric to cover it all winter.

I also came up with this little pre dinner appetizer/snack from scoops.
I put a bit of cheese sauce in each chip, added a drop of taco sauce, some red onion and chives. I would have added diced tomatoes, but I didn't have any.
In one of the famous words of Rachael, YUM-O! I will be trying out other combos with these chips. They are just made for stuffing!

It's still cold here, barely hitting 60 degrees on the nice days. This is pretty unusual. We should have decent spring weather by now!

Well, I have to get to work. I hope I can get back online tonight!

  3. Whassup with your computer? Do you defrag and all that fun stuff? Ours is about 7 yrs old and I'm waiting on it to quit. Sometimes the fan is really loud. Crossing fingers. Do you have all your photos backed up too?
WOW!! Those are gorgeous tulips! Isn't nature amazing?!! Your gardens are shaping up.
It's really humid now and I stuck a few $1.00 find annuals (4 pks) in the ground, but that was all I could handle.
I also put the item for your DH in a box...I'm making progress-lol.
    Your appetizer does look yum-o!

  6. Zoey, I'm almost positive those tulips are the Tom Pouce variety. I had them (along with Hot Pants) on my list of stuff to buy for the fall from Breck's, so when I saw the newest picture you posted, I immediately recognized them!!!

The picture on Van Borgondien is closer to your pic than the Breck's one, so here's the link: http://www.dutchbulbs.com/store/tulips/12622

    I second Sylvana's motion... get a Mac!

  7. Hello dear Zoey:-)

Yup, it's finally me! I've spent most of the day going through my Bloglines and visiting everyone...I'm determined to get caught up with all my dear blogging friends!!

Those tulips are absolutely amazing, I've never seen anything like them before! As you say, it's like having two different flowers in one. Totally awesome!

What a great idea for an appetizer, I often buy those Tostitos scoops but never thought of filling them up like you did individually. Must try that:-)

I'll now go read the rest of your posts that I've missed! xoxo
