This is at the garage entrance looking toward the same picket fence road garden.
And this is the picket fence garden. It is planted with a Ninebark and 2 Golden Cypress Mophead shrubs. Since the shrubs are still small, I filled the garden in with red and pink dahlias and J's favorite flower, marigolds.
I am happy to report that all of the Limelight Hydrangeas that I planted last fall are doing great.
I put three of them in the old apple tree border.
Same area looking in the opposite direction toward the picket fence road garden.
Did you notice all of the sedums just beginning to turn pink in my driveway borders? I have dozens of them. This is next to the sidewalk to the front door looking toward the old apple tree border:
A few feet to the right looking in the exact spot where the apple tree stood. We are loving living without that tree there. This is the first time in over a quarter century that we have not had to pick up apples every day in late summer.
In a week the sedum will all be a lovely medium pink color. In two weeks they will turn their rust color and then sadly summer is over. It goes faster every year, don't you think?
Wow, everything looks great. We have had mid 90s and humid... been hiding indoors! xxx...
ReplyDeletecold and rainy here, Brooke. It is in the 40's at night!
DeleteI bet people drive by your house really slow to gaze at your beautiful yard!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteAlways a joy to see.
Thanks, Earlene. Not too many people see it because I live on a dead end road. :)
DeleteI love your creative shots! Hard to believe that you had such a bad winter! The neighbors looks like they follow your lead with nice, tidy yards.
ReplyDeleteYes, my neighbors do keep tidy yards (most of them). I like that. :)
DeleteEverything looks beautiful. Remember what it looked like a few months ago? Hard to believe that things came through that miserable winter and look even better this summer.
ReplyDeleteHave a nice weekend.
Balisha
It's hard to believe in only a few months everything will be bare and white again!
DeleteAh so beautiful friend!!! Everything is stunning!!!
ReplyDeleteThank you for stopping by and for the nice comment.
DeleteBeautiful! So tidy and colorful and...........hey, where are the chew marks from the deer????
ReplyDeleteHave you had problems with deer and your hydrangeas? I just bought a gorgeous one, but frankly, I'm scared to plant it out. I've had
horrible problems with deer this summer.....
Sue, The deer have eaten most of my hosta. In my next post I have a pic of the chewing on my kale. Luckily they have not bothered the hydrangea. I hope its not next!
