- I am so glad you stopped by to visit my garden. I garden in lower northern Michigan (zone 5) in far less than ideal conditions. I have too many pine trees, too much shade, too many rocks, herds of hosta-munching deer and rabbits who think my lilly buds are gourmet appetizers. I am by no means an expert in horticulture or garden design--just an amateur with a shovel and a passion. My garden changes daily during the summer and I will be updating frequently. During the winter months, I blog about my favorite cold-weather hobby--quilting and just my everyday musings. I hope you enjoy your visit, and that you will come back soon.

Just going by the berries and the branch structure, I'd say some kind of Japanese barberry.

From what I understand the amount of fruit produced varies a lot -- just depends if it likes where its planted. Mine is full of berries this year.

Jenn, you missed out on the big prize! LOL. I was planning to leave it open a little longer, but since I posted so many pictures today, it forced this post so low down that I was afraid I would forget to come back and give the answer. For some odd reason known only to the highest cyberspace diety, I do not get email notices for most of the comments.
ReplyDeleteI have a Burning bush and never noticed berries on it. Wonder if there are male and females bushes or does it make a difference? I'll have to go look at mine again.
ReplyDeleteSpice bush berries look very similar, but they dropped in November. (Not before I got some seeds to plant, though!)
