A Few Things I Like this Year

Coleus 'Redhead'

Ninebark 'Diablo' in its red seedhead stage:

Pink Geraniums planted with Heuchera and pink-variegated sweet potato vine:

Allium seed heads that look like fireworks:

and the fact that this Ligularia after 3 days without water

had the ability to pop back to life hours after a good dose of H2O Amazing!

Spending a Sunday working in the garden in the morning and enjoying the remainder of a perfect summer day on the deck.

  1. Hi again Zoey ... I love your deck with such nice colours and pretty plants .. we always seem to have chaos going on with our deck and patio, bags of mulch, compost .. plants to be planted .. it seems the whole summer whips by and I never have it all arranged so we can just enjoy it ! haha
The goatsbeard takes a while to settle in a grow big but it is worth the wait .. I just planted "Giant Fleece Flower",persicaria polymorpha which is even a little larger than the goatsbeard .. so I will be waiting to see how that turns out. It is funny to see plants come back from the brink of shriveled up forever to "hey I'm fine, just a little thirsty!" haha ... they are wonderful aren't they ?

I am not familiar with "Giant Fleece Flower", but I will be googling it as soon as I leave here! :)

  2. Zoey, you have the prettiest spot to sit and relax.
It is a gorgeous day today, isn't it? The wind is a little crazy over this way, but other than that--beautiful!
    Enjoy!

    1. Hi Sue,
I worked 10 hrs today, so I just got home and outside to see what the day was like. You are correct--very windy...yet quite warm.
