It's Beginning to Look Like Christmas at My House

This  year I did my main tree in these traditional colors:

Many of you may remember that I have done turquoise or brownish colors for the past few years.    I really love all different holiday colors....I just get bored with the same every year, so since I bought new green furniture last spring, this year I am enjoying cranberry reds and green again.  Luckily I have a basement full of Christmas ornies in many colors, so I did not have to buy a single thing.

I will show you more of that tree later.  It's been up for two weeks, but I have not taken any full pictures.

This past weekend in the dining room, I put up a small skinny tree and decorated it with only red cardinals, pinecones and white snowflakes.  It was the easiest tree I have ever decorated!
It goes nicely with the  new dining room chair covers in cranberry red and green that I made last month.

At the top of tree I put the antlers from a buck my son got many years ago.   DH found the antlers in the basement --I did not even know they were there. Antlers are such a big item in the decorating world right now....what a great find!

Are you decorated for Christmas yet?

  1. Love your snowflake cardinal tree. I wanted my woodland tree to look similar, but couldn't find small snowflakes and didn't get the felt cardinals done. I can enjoy yours now...

  2. Hi Balisha,
I just went to Joanne's today and bought the snowflakes -- they were 50% off --
    $1 each.

  3. Your trees both look pretty, Zoey. My tree is all decorated in red and white. I have no cardinals or snowflakes - it's done in red and white poinettias, white lights, and lots of red balls and candy canes. Merry Christmas!

  4. No decorating done here yet, sad to say. I love your trees, they are beautiful! I can't quite summon up the enthusiasm this year, but I sure do appreciate other people's efforts.

    1. I understand that feeling, Karen. One year I did not put up a tree at all. I enjoyed not having any work to do that year!

  5. Both look very pretty Zoey. It's been a while since I saw you post. I'm not doing as much either. Try to do one post each month. Hope you have a nice Christmas.

  6. Both of your trees are pretty. I really like the one with the cardinals and white snowflakes. I am not done with my decorating. Maybe I'll finish that today. I put up a little tree and decorated it with the lighthouse ornaments I have. It needs more lights.
    Enjoy the Season!

So, I decided to do that maybe next year!! So, I really love you red & green tree and looking forward to more photos.
