Please Identify this Plant and Allium Molly

I really hate when there are no labels on plants!  This was in the annual section and has rubbery dark purple leaves that I could not resist.  You all know I love those dark foliage plants!
It came in this container.

Anybody know what it is?

Allium 'Molly' made her cheerful entrance last week.

I really enjoy the perky little yellow stars.

I am hoping to spend some time this weekend in the garden.  All of the purple spring flowers have finished their time on stage.  Now they are just ugly and need to be cut down.  By next week there will another flush of color that will be totally different from the spring pastels.

  2. Thank you, Sue. I took those one spring morning a few years ago when I was out chasing butterflies in my bathroom. :) It was a pretty cold morning and I think that butterfly was too cold to move fast.

  3. Don't know what the plant is but it sure is interesting looking. The allium is lovely and I like the Sedum blooms with the Hosta.

  4. Hi Zoey, Your mystery plant might be perilla, which is from the mint family and can be rather aggressive. I'm not certain though. Have a great wknd!

    1. I googled 'perilla' and I can see some similarities. The perilla leaves looked soft to me. The leaves on mine are very thick and rubbery...maybe it's just a plain old rubber plant with dark foliage???? Thanks so much for trying to i.d. if for me, Beth.

    1. Hi Lona,
I do like spiderwort this time of the year. I just wish it would rebloom after it dies off and I cut it back. Mine never does.

  6. Zoey- Is that a gloxania? Not sure of the spelling but it looks like something my Mom used to grow. xo Diana

  7. Don't think so, Diana. These leaves are more thick and rubbery. Thanks for taking a shot, though. I guess I will just have to wait and see what happens with it.
