Other Gardens that Inspire Me

Like many of you, we got hit with that big snowstorm a few days ago. It did not bother me much since I was fortunate enough to be able to search garden sites while being lulled by the buzz of someone else pushing the snow blower.

I found some inspirational photos from this site.

In the riot of color in this garden, it is the red table that catches my eye. I have a similar table with four chairs. It came to me red. I hated the red color and have painted it 4 or 5 different colors in the years I've owned it.
For the past couple of years, I have been considering changing it back to red! I am unpredictable like that.

Look how gorgeous succulents can be in triplicate hay racks.

Cute tree trunk table and candle chandy....

Oh, to have a little cottage up north with a view like this! It seems like I have drooled over this one before.

  2. Thanks for sharing ~ I'm thinking I'll have to start some succulents to the mix this year. And a 'POP' of color!

  3. Zoey, great decor ideas. Believe it or not, and I am not a blue person, but it is the blue with the yellow that caught my eye.

Those succulents are spectacular and I might try them in my hayracks on the shed.

  5. Go for it! Paint the table and chairs red!
I'll never forget the gorgeous view almost 27 yrs ago from the hotel balcony of the aqua water in Cancun. I will say that the US has pretty ocean and lake areas too. I like something tropical once in a while.
Great photo shares (the succulent garden would cost quite a bit unless you found a deal someplace).

  6. Betty,
    Me, too!

Cher, I would love to see your plant combinations.

Eileen, Believe it or not, I thouoght of you as soon as I saw those hayracks.

Deb, Isn't it a cute idea? Wish I still had one of the dozens of tree trunks we've had removed in the past ten years.

    Hi Dianne,
I thought the same thing about having to buy all those succulents -- I think last year they were selling one large succulent for $3-4. It would take an awful lot of money to plant three of those hayracks unless you already had tons of hens/chicks growing in your garden.

I was just at Walmart looking at spray paint. I had red in my hand, then decided I had better think about it some more. I wish I could just power wash all the other paint layers away and have the original red. I tried that last year and I could not get the paint off with the power washer. We left one set of table/chairs out all winter, so maybe the paint will have blistered up and come off this year.

I did buy some chalkboard paint. I am not sure what I will turn into a chalk board, but I am always seeing cute projects in Blogsville, so now I will have the paint when inspiration hits.
