February Blog Funk

I have had nothing to write about for the past week as I haven't done much but sew in my spare time.  I did a lot of sewing the first week of February.
I have posted all my projects on my quilting blog, http://www.zoeyquilts.blogspot.com/, or just click on the link on my sidebar if you want to know more about the projects. They are all made from free patterns that I got on the Internet and I have posted links to the free patterns, if you are interested in making any of them.

Today I pulled these lovely bananas from the freezer.

and turned them into 2 loaves of a glazed banana bread.I have not yet tasted the bread, but it looks a lot prettier than those frozen bananas, don't you agree?

I hope it's good as I intend to take a loaf to my MIL tomorrow. We are going there for dinner for my father-in-law's birthday.

Did you notice those roses behind the banana bread? It's my Valentine's Day flower from my sweet husband.

If I can keep it alive until June, I can plant it in the garden.

I hope you are all having a good February. It's been very, very cold here. A couple of days last week were below zero.  I am enjoying the cold weather. I don't have to worry about spending too much time on my sewing projects because there is nothing else I need to do outside.  Spring will be here soon enough.

  1. Oh, Zoey, the quilting projects are so lovely, I have never tried my hand at quilting, but it sure looks like fun! The banana bread looks so yummy, it's a good thing I don't live closer, or I'd be knocking on your door. What a sweet husband to give you the beautiful rose, I'm sure it will grow beautifully for you!

I have picked up my blog again, but now it seems all my blogger friends have the winter blahs!
I have enjoyed going back thru your blog and looking at the pictures of your inspiring and energetic blog. Take care, Sis

  4. Zoey, your quilting looks great. I never tried freezing the bananas and then using them later. I am always throwing them out when they turn. From now on, I will save them. We are going to be 50 degrees by the end of the week.

  5. I shouldn't have looked at this at 10:30 PM, now I'm hungry.
I've never had iced banana bread.
I bought me the 5 minute Artisan bread book. While baking my 2nd loaf of bread yesterday my pampered chef baking stone broke.
So now I need a new stone and a piza peel.
Love your flowers, I got my usual heart shaped box of chocolates.
