orange perfection phlox
I was pretty excited to find this little bag of 3 roots of orange perfection phlox at my local Wal*mart.
I've ordered it twice during the past twenty years, but it has never bloomed for me. I am thinking of planting these roots in the half whiskey barrels on the deck so I can make sure they get extra attention.
I understand the blooms on this are sometimes more pink than orange. I hope mine turns out to be orange. I've got enough pink phlox.
Does anybody grow this?
What color are your blooms?
Here's my latest snack craze:
Sliced bananas, honey and sunflower seeds. YUM!
I eat the same snack without the honey...pretty flowers can't wait to see them grow for you
ReplyDeleteHey...send me some of that snack !!!
ReplyDeleteoooooh Zoey - ORANGE phlox! I am envious! You'll have to keep me posted how they thrive in your garden!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great looking snack..you share the most interesting snacks..love it Zoey:)
ReplyDeleteThose orange phlox sure look good..I love admiring other gardeners flowers..way less work for me..smile
I bought a couple of these same orange phlox yesterday. We have a large bare root supplier nearby and the staff advised me to start them in containers. For some reason the phlox like a contained root growth. I will be trying the same.
ReplyDeleteI was just looking on the web for help because my orange phlox that I purchased from WalMart hasn't started growing yet and wondered about its watering needs. Do you have any success with yours?
ReplyDeleteAny tips on how much to water it? (Like does it like to be dry for awhile before it gets watered again?)I have mine in a pot right now and am waiting for them to bloom well before I put them in the yard.
