I Hope the Big Kahuna Does NOT make Me Start Doing this Job

Human bed warmers 'help' Holiday Inn guests sleep

No kidding......this is verbatim from the release:

Guests staying at the London Kensington branch of Holiday Inn will be able to avail of a rather unusual service this week.

Human bed warmers are being employed at the hotel to help guests get a restful night's sleep.

Staff members dressed in all-in-one sleeper suits will be sent to warm guests' beds for five minutes before they get under the covers themselves.

A spokesperson for Holiday Inn said: "People want to leave the cold outside and climb into a warm bed.

"The bed warmers service is a bit like having a giant hot water bottle in your bed, warming it up before guests climb in to give them a great night's sleep away from the cold - of course they jump out before you jump in."

Commenting on the move, Dr Chris Idzikowski, director of the Edinburgh Sleep Centre, said it could help people get a good night's sleep as a warm bed, with a temperature of approximately 20 to 24 degrees, is the ideal environment for rest.

I swear if he starts making me perform this job,I'm out of here!

  1. This is just too weird! I'd have an issue with that anyway..I like to get into a cold bed.

  5. That is way strange. How do you know if the guest wouldn't be quirky or touchy feely? Ugh! Offer them a hot water bottle!

  6. That promo pic is deceiving. The human bed warmer does NOT get into bed with the guest. The bed warmer gets in alone for five minutes, Then the human warmer leaves (to warm other beds) and the guests snuggles in for the night.

Still......very strange....I really doubt that this will last long!

  7. ROFL ok, now I've heard of everything! lol We needed one of those human bed warmers the last time we stayed in Niagara Falls. We got to our hotel room at 3 a.m. (remember the time I got stuck on the highway for 9 hours?!) and they hadn't put the heat on at all so the bed was freezing!! Not something you want when it's 3 in the morning and you're exhausted. xoxo

  8. That is just not right. No way do I want bedwarmers except for the hubby!
Nope I didn't retire. My hubby says I've always been partially retired. I have worked part time for the past 20 for the electric Cooperative. I usually put in 7 to 9 days a month!

  9. there is a remarkable invention called The Electric Blanket! But this service might be really useful to lonely hearts and the elderly!
And cold sheets? That's just WRONG!
