I'm Having Dinner with Orville

Redenbacher, that is!

Dh had leftover meatloaf and twice baked potato, but I was not in the mood for that. So I threw a bag of popcorn in the microwave.

When it was finished popping, I tossed in a handful of cheddar cheese,
closed the top and let it melt slightly.......MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM, delicious!

O.K. fess up. What sort of different dinners do you like to have?

  1. lol, that's great! i remember my sister used to put dry oatmeal with lots of butter and brown sugar and melt that all up together to munch on...and that was SO good. she would rarely make it for me, though and would get me in trouble when i tried to make it, so to this day i can't get the recipe right!

  3. We sometimes eat eggs and bacon for dinner-but that's not really unusual. I just can't eat popcorn or cereal or I'll be snacking all evening.

  4. Popcorn is the best! I tend to do it on the weekends frequently.

  5. Hi Kate, Yes, it was!

Oh my goodness, Dani, I know exactly what you are talking about! I used to whip up my own similar concotion with the same ingredients. I did add a touch of milk, let it get to boiling, then dump in the oatmeal. It was like those chocolate no bake cookies, only caramel.

Suzy, That's a different one for me. I bet it's good!

Dianne, We also love breakfast for dinner. We do it at least monthly.

Sally, I think it's fairly healthy, too, don't you? Unless like me you enjoy butter on it--and lots of it.

  8. Zoey..I have many 'interesting meal ideas'..one of my fave is a slice of multigrain bread with peanut butter and a bowl of home canned peaches.
I have also done the popcorn thing..

  9. Jean, I agree with Kate. That sounds delish! I will have to wait until the first week in July to get good local berries.

Betty, My mom likes peaches with peanut butter, too. She likes peanut butter toast period. I haven't had it in years. Maybe you've inspired a light dinner idea.
