OMG, I have RED hair!
I have always had dark blond hair. Two weeks ago I went to have lighter blond and red highlights put in. I picked a nice mellow strawberry blond.
When it was done, I had nice blond highlights, but nobody could even tell I had any red. My hairdresser offered to redo the red and today was the big day.
My hairdresser, Cindy, said that she was thinking about it and she had an idea on how to mix the "potion" so it would be more red. I was a tad apprehensive, but hey, we only live once. Let's go for the gusto! I told her to go for it.
I think the red took, don't you?
It looks pretty stripey here because it is not yet combed out. Here it is combed out.
On my monitor the red does not look as bright as it really is, so I am not sure what you are seeing. Does it look red to you?
I have some pretty bright red highlights, and I think I am really liking it. I think it's going to be fun!
I will have to wear a lot of lime green for a while. Don't you think lime green goes nicely with red hair?
As my 78-year old co-worker says, "What's life if you don't have any fun?"
Looks like fun- seems to match your personality- or what I've seen of it on here anyway. Artistic and bubbly! :)
ReplyDeleteHi Dani,
ReplyDeleteI like that assessment of my personality. Thank you! :)
I like it, red heads are great, I have a reddish tint to my hair, especially in the sun.
ReplyDeleteI like it,Zoey and yes,it will look good with lime green !
ReplyDeleteI have been lurking around your blog...reading your posts...and laughing hysterically!!! You have such a unique storytelling ability...I love it!
ReplyDeleteFirst, the red looks great. I have dark blonde hair too and my husband loves "Reba" red. I compromised and did the strawberry blonde thing and actually loved it. And yes, lime green or olive looks great on redheads!
Second...the ice pick contraption is hilarious. I only laugh b/c I can relate. My parents are originally from Michigan and my remaining grandparent and many aunts/uncles/cousins still love in the giant mitten state! While my relatives live in the Detroit metro area I know those winter's are rough in the UP and lower peninsula!
Finally, I have so many great childhood memories of vacationing on Mackinac Island. Oh how I love that place. My husband loves it too! One year we drove from Detroit to Mackinac. Stayed at a B&B on the island and then drove the UP over to Wisconsin and all the way down to his grandparents in Prairie Du Chien. It was such a beautiful trip! One I will never forget. Of course this was in July and I still needed a sweatshirt at night!
Stay warm as you wait for SPRING to approach!
Deb, Suzy, Nice to see you both. Thanks for the input. I just got up and looked in the mirror and it looks pretty red. I have to get used to seeing that when I am in front of a mirror.
ReplyDeleteValerie,
I love Reba's red, too. I am not quite brave enough to go that far! I am planning to wear olive green today.
Thanks for letting me know you are out there reading. I appreciate everyone that takes time from their own busy days to read my little blog.
I know a lot of people who like to take the trip around the mitten as you did. I have never done it myself. I do want to get up to Copper Harbor--maybe this summer. And yes, sweatshirts are needed in July, especially way up there!
Thanks again for commenting. Please feel free to jump in whenever you feel like it!
OMG this is too funny, I am going myself today to have more red put in my hair! I use to have the red in, then some day I made a dumb decision, blonds have more fun.
ReplyDeleteSo I wore it that way for maybe 6-8 months.
Never got near the compliments then
last month I asked for red, she said okay but I can't do it all at once or you will turn out PINK.
Today is when I either go pink or RED.
Maybe I will try pictures too.
Have a great weekend!
Patti
Love the hammer in the pole! I used a hoe taped to a telescoping tree pruner. LOL! I also like the red highlights. Looks great! Jean
ReplyDeleteSnazzy Zoey! I like the touch of red-it pretty and different. I was told I have lots of colors in my hair (by my husband). Wouldn't he be surprised if I let it grow out to it's 'now' color(s)? I'd be Ms Salt and Pepper for sure
ReplyDeleteI see red, and it looks great. Will you be more hot tempered now? I know from experience that redheads don't take no lip. ;~)
ReplyDeleteOSB, I am heading over to your blog next to see if you posted any pics.
ReplyDeleteJean, You amaze me at all the things you can do!
Dianne, It is different, for sure! LOL. I may tire of it quickly, not sure yet.
TC, I hope not! :)
