Wouldn't You Think in the last Century They Could Have Improved Patterns?

If any of you have ever sewn clothing, you will know what I am talking about. The flimsy pattern pieces that you have to deal with are enough to make anyone give up the hobby. Look at this mess!

Before I can even begin, I need to find all the pieces and cut them out. I think with today's technology, they could be cut out before they get to me. At the bare minimum the manufacturers could put all of the same pattern pieces on the same sheet so I would not have to play find-the-pattern-piece with six pages of this stuff!

Oh, well, that is not my biggest challenge today. Look at the view from my living room window at 7:00 a.m. Yes, another 8 inches or so. It's enough to make a grown woman cry.
See that UFO hoovering over the neighbor's house? Maybe they were sent to rescue me.

Beam me up, Scotty!

  1. Isn't it amazing how we loose our love of winter when we are responsible for shoveling? lol! Welcome to my world! Your cookies look yummy. I've been seeing a lot of ginger on the cooking shows lately. I wish I was included in your food handouts. Jean

  2. I know patterns make me crazy, but the instructions are just as bad, sometimes I just look at the pictures and not read the directions. I'm sorry for your snow, I guess I should stop complaining about cooler weather, it could be a ton of snow. Have a good Sunday!

  3. Yup, right there with you on the frustration with patterns.

We were suppose to get snow today, but it seems to be more of a rain/freezing rain mess. I can't say I am sorry. I am ready for winter to be done. Sorry you have to do the shoveling with your hubby out of commission for a while.

  4. At least with all that snow, you won't be facing a drought for your beautiful garden!
We worry about that terribly and I'm doing the happy dance listening to it rain today!
I don't sew much anymore, but looks like patterns are the same as 50 years ago when I took home ec!

  6. Good grief how deep is that snow? I would swap you in an instant - hot and steamy here and still no sign of rain. Enjoy your sewing and you're right how come patterns don't come precut. It would make life so much easier.
