Where Did the Weekend Go?

In the last 6 weeks, I think this is only the second weekend that we have stayed home. I was ready for a weekend to get some household chores done.

Even with an extra hour, I did not have enough time to get most of what I had planned done. I probably accomplished only 25% of what I wanted to. It's only 2:00 p.m., but I have been going nonstop since 4:00 a.m. and my energy level is near zero.

I went into work for a little while on Saturday morning, then ran a few errands. I was home by noon and I had the rest of the weekend all to myself. I was planning to make a valance for the family room sliding door and another window in that room as well as valances to match a quilt I recently finished.

I thought I would also have lots of time to do some extra cleaning. Ha! I didn't do any cleaning at all.

I did finish the valances to match the quilt, but didn't even get to start the ones for the family room. It took way more time than I had mentally planned for. You can see what I made on my quilting blog if you are interested. Just click here.

While searching for a different pattern, I found this one that I bought a while ago.

I wanted to make the witch project for Halloween. Of course, I forgot about it and it's just a tad too late now that I have remembered. I might make the elf legs. I use a lot of elves in my Christmas decorating, so I think I may find a place for those legs. Wouldn't it be cute to have them hanging over a china cabinet or something?

Since noon today I have been cooking up a storm. I feel good that at least my cooking for next week is done. I will tell you all about it on another post.

I hope you are all enjoying the first weekend of November.

  1. I didn't see the weekend go by either! lol I took a look at the valance you made and it's gorgeous. You're my hero where quilting is concerned! hehe

Those elf legs are just hysterical and I love your idea of hanging them over a china cabinet! lol xoxo

  2. You mentioning 4 am sends shivers down my spine! ; )
That's a pretty fun set of legs and arms you have there. We have a fireplace, so we use to tell our little Sean (long ago)that he had to watch for Santa's boots, and he would. That brought back a nice memory. The elves lefts would be funny coming out of a big basket of presents, like they fell into it by mistake.
I started up a Sunday share if you want to check it out. It just came in my head and I put it up without telling anyone first.
