I was so surprised when I got home from work today and noticed the 'Texas Flame' tulips were blooming. I usually only get one or two blooms because the rest get eaten.
The flower heads seem smaller than I remember them. But then my tulips usually do get smaller each year. I am just happy to have so many to enjoy for the short time they are here.
Amazing tulips..thanks for sharing, Zoey!
ReplyDeleteSo striking! I wonder if you dig them up and replant them in the fall that the heads will get bigger? Don't they go too deep in the soil after while? I had some neat tulips that the previous owners must have planted-like almost black in color. They are gone now.
ReplyDeleteHi Zoey,
ReplyDeleteBeautiful burst of color! I didn't know tulips got smaller each year.
I always learn so many interesting things from you!

I love these tulips; what a riot of color. Tulips don't do well here in my area of California, meaning they don't bloom dependably after the first year, so I am envious of gardeners with tulip beds.
