Santas warned 'ho ho ho' offensive to women
One disgruntled Santa told the newspaper a recruitment firm warned him not to use "ho ho ho" because it could frighten children and was too close to "ho", a US slang term for prostitute.
Can you believe that? !!!

That is a ho ho ho bunch of nonsense.
ReplyDeleteYou're right it's ridiculous, but it sounds like it's been blown out of proportion. Slow news day, perhaps?
ReplyDeleteI heard that too and that maybe they should say ha ha ha and I say HA to that! What rediculous thing will "they" think of next!!
ReplyDeleteI heard about this on our radio station this afternoon and thought how ridiculous...they're trying to take Christ out of Christmas and now trying to take Ho out of Ho Ho Ho!! Wishing you a belated Happy Blogiversary...gosh, 3 years already, you're an old pro at this blogging! lol Not saying you're old...you know what I mean! hehe xoxo
ReplyDeleteSo they change it to HA-HA-HA and the kids ask why it changed... then you have to explain it's offensive... then they ask why... and then you have to have the conversation that you didn't want to have in the first place... (that's if your kid asked what "Ho" means)!!!
ReplyDeleteA friend said "I guess we we'll soon see gardening hoes being removed from the gardening store because someone was offended !!
How crazy can people get? Besides, what is wrong with a good ho? Ha, Ha, Ha!!!
ReplyDeleteYet another snippet showing what this crazy world is coming to.
ReplyDeleteGood grief this story has reached all corners of the globe. It was in the local (small town) paper here with the local preschools commenting on it. As they said - kids are more frightened by the beard and a strange man - than a man saying Ho, Ho, Ho.....and that there was no way that the preschools would stop their Santa saying it at the Christmas party. Yet another example of the world gone mad. I shake my head in wonder and wander off muttering Ho, Ho, Ho under my breath...wicked grinning all the time. It begs the question though - if it scares small children - will it scare my dogs into behaving? I must try it out. Enough - the silliness of the season is getting to me.
ReplyDeleteSilly season, indeed. In Ft. Collins, Colorado, they're attempting to ban red and green Christmas lights and will allow only "unadorned" greenery in city displays. Otherwise, they appear to be "too religious". Ha ha. Idiots.
ReplyDeleteThank you all for your comments. I see we are all in agreement on this one!
ReplyDeleteLostroses, I think I saw that on Fox news a week or so ago. Didn't they suggest using snowflakes to decorate? The commentator said they didn't need any fake snowflakes because Colorado has plenty of the real stuff.
It's totally insane that time and money is spent on such nonsense.
