The Buddleia Brings Out the Beauties

Ever since the buddleia started blooming, I have tons of butterflies flying around the deck all the time. Today I counted six at one time sipping the sweet nectar.

I am also seeing hummingbirds every day - sometimes two or three at a time.

No wonder I love buddleias so much! Posted by Picasa

  1. This is the first year that I haven't had one, and I really notice the difference. I had lots of monarchs in the garden, but not much else.

  2. Even with buddleia, all I usually see are monarchs, although I do get hummingbirds at the trumpet vine.
