Coleus Thru the Canna Leaves

See those two-tiered planters in the back?
I am not happy with them at all.
This is the second year I have used them and so far I am not impressed.
I REALLY dislike seeing the container.
I planted the top with ducks feet trailing coleus, thinking it would trail (as its name implies). So far its trailing abilities leave much to be desired.
The bottom coleus is beginning to get tall. Perhaps they will end up tall enough to cover the top container.
I want all the colelus to intertwine and cover all parts of the container.
Is that too much to ask?

  1. It's certainly beautiful healthy coleus, though I can understand your disappointment with not getting the overall effect you were hoping for.

  2. Yes, they are healthy beautiful plants. I am just being picky, I guess. But my big pet peeve is seeing too much of a container. My ideal container shows no contanier at all - just masses of plants.

Don't even get me started on hanging plastic pots that show more plastic than plant.....I can't bring myself to hang them....I guess we all have our little Idiosyncrasies. LOL
