I haven't tried this technique, but I am certainly going to start doing this. I usually just soak the ground well afterwards then water everyday for about a week.

There is a product for clay soils that has worked well for me- Schultz Clay Soil Conditioner. I have not dug a hole yet that wasn't full of wet, gluey earth. I do give the plants a nice long drink after the planting, and I water them daily for a few days after.

I'll keep the flooding method in mind when I finally move away from this awful dirt!Kasmirahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01866928448186848884noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6735463.post-1120803016955909682005-07-08T02:10:00.000-04:002005-07-08T02:10:00.000-04:00You go girl! I've done that and it does seem to help sometimes.kerryhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13558283673509875542noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6735463.post-1120787431472149382005-07-07T21:50:00.000-04:002005-07-07T21:50:00.000-04:00That's exactly what I do!
