On the Day you were Born

what was the #1 song in the nation?

You can find out here.

Mine was "Sixteen Tons" by Tennessee Ernie Ford. Hmmmm...don't think I know that song.

  3. Mine was 'Paper Doll' by the Mills Brothers. I remember the song but only in later years, of course. We didn't have a radio until I was about 5 years old.

  4. 16 tons, and what do you get, another day older and deeper in debt or something like that. : )
I think Tenn. Ernie was on I Love Lucy a lot.

  5. Ah, now I do remember 16 tons (since dianne was kind enough to post a line or two).

Never heard of Alice's or zoey'smom's songs either.

  6. Mine was Peg o' My Heart by The Harmonicats. I know the song but not the group. My dad used to sing that song.
I was going to 'sing' Sixteen Tons for you but I see Dianne already did :)
